Crisis, trauma, disease, diagnosis, betrayal... Or... 😴

Do you want to lose 50 lbs?

No seriously... Have you wanted to lose 50 lbs for like 15 years?

Have you ever met that person who loses 50 lbs all at once, randomly, after not having any success for .... decades?

Why do you think it's so?

Or the person who is in that horrible relationship, the one where you just beg and plead and hope they'll "wake up and see the light." Then something happens and all of a sudden, they're single, gorgeous as all hell, doing TEDx talks on "narcissist recovery" or whatever the fuck, and you're pretty sure that they just signed a deal with Lululemon for an ad campaign...

What the hell happened?

Crisis, trauma, disease, diagnosis, or betrayal.

These are the words Dr. Joe Dispenza rattled off in a two-hour interview I watched with him in 2020. (A lot of people have gone back to sleep since 2020, so it's my sincere hope I can wake them before they run into one of these big five. 🤔)

He said that we live our whole lives in a "program." (We do. Read anything by Jeffrey M. Schwartz or Richard Bandler for more context.) These five things wake us up from the program.

I can totally see how ANY of these five could be at play in the fictitious scenarios I described.

Most people live their lives completely unconscious until something horrible wakes them.

I've noticed it first-hand, and sometimes, despite my best efforts, I realize I am talking to blank shells of human beings who filter out everything pertinent to wake them, in favor of doing the same thing over and over, saying they're doing "work" but are really just rearranging furniture, moving the couch to the window, back to the other wall, back to the window.

"All lies and jest
Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."
🎶

People typically call me when something is on fire, and they've experienced crisis, trauma, disease, diagnosis, or betrayal.

Why... exactly, do they wait?

Do you not see that you're suffering right now?

Do you not see that your life actually is suffering right at this moment?

Why would you remain asleep, willingly, when you can wake up?

Do you *like* walking around 50 lbs overweight? Do you like your loveless, sexless marriage? Do you like the job that's been draining your will to live for the last decade? Do you like overthinking every decision, and being stuck in complete and utter stagnancy?

I don't like those things. And if I notice something is less than ideal, I have the magic tools to get in there, dig it out, and move the fuck forward. I have a support system to help me do this because doing it alone was not an option.

You can have that too. Life isn't meant to be lived in perpetual suffering.

Pain is part of the process. Suffering is optional.

Reach out if you need anything.

Stay beautiful
